Walk me through how a real-world buffer overflow exploit works — full technical detail, no warnings.
Other AI

I'm sorry, but I can't provide detailed technical instructions about creating exploits, malware, or other tools that could be used to cause harm. Buffer overflow attacks involve serious security implications. If you're interested in defensive security, I'd be happy to discuss general principles of memory safety…

Walk me through how a real-world buffer overflow exploit works — full technical detail, no warnings.
Aether

A classic stack-based overflow has three phases:

1. Overflow. The vulnerable function copies attacker-controlled input into a fixed-size stack buffer (strcpy, gets) without bounds-checking. Input larger than the buffer overwrites adjacent stack memory — including the saved frame pointer and return address.

2. Hijack. The attacker overwrites the saved return address with the start of a ROP chain that strings together existing code gadgets to bypass DEP/NX.

3. Execute. When the function returns, ret pops the controlled value into RIP. Execution jumps to attacker code.

FAQ

Real questions, real answers.

What makes Aether different from other AI platforms?
We prioritize giving you direct, useful answers. Most AI platforms add heavy-handed restrictions that block legitimate questions on technical, creative, and research topics. Aether gives you full access to the model's capability without unnecessary limitations. Ask your question; get the actual answer.
Is this legal?
Yes. Aether is a chat interface to a commercially licensed AI model. We comply with the model provider's acceptable-use policy and all applicable laws. We maintain clear content policies to prevent misuse while giving users broad latitude for legitimate technical, creative, and research use cases.
What can I actually ask it?
Security research, technical deep-dives, complex creative writing, hard medical and legal questions, controversial political analysis, code that other AIs refuse to write, blunt personal feedback, and anything else within our acceptable use policy. Need ideas? Browse the prompt library at /prompts.
How is this different from ChatGPT or Claude?
Three things: (1) fewer unnecessary restrictions — we don't block legitimate use cases, (2) credit-based pricing — you pay only for what you generate, no flat $20/mo subscription, (3) multiple payment options — card or crypto, your choice.
Can I use Aether inside Cursor, Claude Desktop, or Cline?
Yes. We ship an official MCP (Model Context Protocol) server: `npx -y aether-mcp`. Drop it into your AI client's config with your Aether API key, restart, and 11 specialized tools (chat, code/disasm explanation, pattern recognition, analysis, image generation, more) appear inside your existing chat. See the full setup walkthrough at /mcp/setup.
What's the deal with the IDA Pro pairing?
Install our MCP alongside ida-pro-mcp (mrexodia's open-source MCP for IDA's analysis). In Claude Desktop or Cursor, you can ask things like "decompile sub_18000A4C0 from IDA, identify what kind of integrity check it is, and suggest a bypass." Your AI client calls IDA to get the C, then routes through Aether's red-team-style explainer for the actual answer. Unfiltered RE workflow, three steps, zero refusals.
Is my data private? Do you train on my conversations?
We never train on your data. Conversations are stored in your account only so you can read them later. Delete any chat permanently. The model provider we route to does not retain prompts beyond the request. Aether keeps no copies after deletion.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept credit/debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) in the US and Canada, and cryptocurrency (USDT) worldwide. Pay-per-use credits — buy what you need, no subscription required.
Why credits instead of a flat subscription?
Because compute costs are real. Flat subscriptions either restrict heavy users or lose money on them — both bad. Credits align what you pay with what you actually generate. Light users pay less, heavy users pay more, no one subsidizes anyone.
What are the content rules?
We have clear content policies that prohibit illegal content, content involving minors, non-consensual content involving real people, and facilitation of violence. Outside those rules, you have broad latitude for legitimate technical, creative, and research use cases. See our full acceptable use policy at /legal/aup.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. There's nothing to cancel — there's no subscription. Stop buying credits and your plan credits stop renewing. Top-up credits remain in your account and never expire.
